Want to share your travel with others?

We have talked about private armchair travel and group armchair travel. More options are available, this one may appeal.

Share travel

Get together photos, brochures and souvenirs in an orderly manner and check out retirement and nursing homes. Some of them will welcome you. You may only share with one person or a small group. Possibly this is an option for you to make a positive difference in your life and someone else’s life.

It would be interesting to hear where and how your sharing works out.

Travelling with other Armchair Travellers

Participating in a group can broaden your travel horizons. With like-minded travellers, you are presented with new destinations and better options for travel experiences.

I have joined a group within the context of U3A. We take turns to present one of our travel experiences. Photos, brochures, pamphlets and other collectable are used to enhance our stories. On occasion, more than one person has travelled to the same destination and this can enhance the presentation.

Additionally, we share tips that can benefit our travel experience. Exchange of contact details for exceptional guides, least tiring route to take, unique accommodation and lesser known side trips that should not be missed are all considered.

U3A, Seniors Groups, local Library and Travel Agents are possible places to locate a group. There are many ways that a group can function.

Benefits of armchair travel

A time may come when you yearn for the adventure of travel. Responsibilities and other obstacles can make it impossible to fly or sail off to distant places. You can transport yourself to a destination without leaving the comfort of your own chair.

Armchair Travel 1

Travel and lifestyle television shows provide a visual taste of wondrous possibilities. The Travel Book by Lonely Planet provides word descriptions of new destinations or helps you relive the ones you know. Check out YouTube videos. There are so many available. You can recapture your memories or be enticed to travel to a new destination.

Call into a Travel Agency and gather brochures about somewhere you would like to visit. Start researching and making plans for your next trip.

As an armchair traveller, you learn about destinations from reading, watching videos and hearing new stories rather than the practical experience.

How to access health records when overseas.

National Health records an online summary of our health information, which you may choose to be made available to doctors, hospitals and healthcare providers. Information is only available to health carers in Australia. In a medical emergency, the information enables quick appropriate care for the patient. It also provided relief at stressful times, saving the carer the worry of trying to remember detail accurately.

Healthi 2

When traveling overseas there is another option so we can personally access records in an emergency. An app,- Healthi, gives access to your records any place in the world where there is WiFi. I wish we had had the app when my husband required a doctor on our last trip. Better prepared now, – we both have the app ready for any future emergency.

Take care of the spelling of Heathi. Make sure you have the “I” on the end of the word when you are looking to download the app.
